India has traditionally been an extremely important producer of home textiles and accessories and today boasts a rapidly expanding base of manufacturers serving the global market. In addition to large manufacturers who have traditionally been involved in the export trade, there are numerous small and mid-size manufacturers developing a world-wide reputation for creative product development and high-quality merchandise. These companies are eager to forge relationships with American companies and are showcasing their products and services at Global Home Textiles® in Las Vegas May 6 to 8, 2008. India Covers Textiles Rapidly Expands International Business

Founded in Jaipur in 2003, India Covers annual sales surpassed the US $1 million mark in just four years; last year the company had annual sales of US $1.1 million. "Our main business has been manufacturing and exporting home furnishing products, including cushions, curtains, seat cushions, chair pads, bed covers, quilts, duvets, table linens, sofa sets, benches, screens, deck chairs, day beds, poster beds, loungers, stools, etc.," remarks Arpan Chaturvedi, company representative.
India Covers currently exports its products to Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Finland, Belgium, Greece, Singapore, UAE, and the West Indies; all of its production is targeted to the export market. The company showcases its products at seven major international trade fairs, including Global Home Textiles in Las Vegas; Heimtextil Frankfurt; Heimtextil Tokyo; IFFS Singapore; IMM Cologne, and IHGF New Delhi.

Swati Exports Highlights Quality Manufacturing, Diverse Product Line

The privately held manufacturer was founded in 1983, and offers a wide variety of home textiles, apparel and accessories, including infant bedding and apparel; juvenile bedding and apparel, quilts, duvet covers, cushion covers, decorative pillows and home accessories.
The company currently supplies 100% of its production to the export market; key trading partners include the United States, Mexico, Denmark, Israel, Sweden and France. "About 35% of our business is done in the United States and we would like to increase that figure," points out proprietor Shashi Nangia. "We are investing in all areas of our manufacturing process to enhance our quality level; we are also making organic products."

Design 45 Focuses on Innovative Design and Product Development

The private limited company was founded in 2000 and has rapidly expanded in the export trade, reaching annual sales of US $5 million. The American market represents more than 85% of the Design 45's business; the company also is expanding its business with European countries.
"Design 45, from its inception, has concentrated on design and development as one of its strengths," comments Lavanya Shrinagesh, business development manager. "We have a dedicated team led by our managing director that ensures meticulous understanding of the product and its development. We consider our design team to be one of our strengths. We can advise and guide our customers and accurately interpret our buyers' requirements."
Design 45 also concentrates on offering superior quality products, including intricate embroidered designs. The company has more than 200 employees working in its 40,000 square foot plant, which features modern computerized embroidery machines, quilting machines and stitching machines.
"We regard quality as a key factor to brilliant manufacturing," Shrinagesh points out. "We have implemented a system of checks and balances from the receipt of an order, through production and finishing, to packaging to ensure that we always give our clients a 'grade A' product. This ensures our clients are getting the quality that they have a right to expect."
Design 45 is exhibiting in the U.S. for the first time at Global Home Textiles in May. "This is our first show in the U.S. and we have great expectations for it," Shrinagesh remarks. "We feel that the May show will increase our business to the United States and give us a more varied clientele."
